Sam Brady was born in Wigan in 1969.

For 15 years he was a business analyst and management consultant. By the time he was 30 he was a company director. He was also UK President of the International Institute of Business Analysts.

Then, in 2001, Sam gave up his home, his career and all his possessions to join a Buddhist community and begin training as a monk. He spent 4 years living in the community, studying and meditating during the weekend, and spending time with his daughter at weekends.

After 4 years in the Buddhist Community, a family tragedy meant that he had to leave to care for his daughter.

Sam went back to consulting for a while but, in 2009, at the age of 39, decided to try his hand at stand-up comedy at the notoriously tough “King Gong” competition at the Manchester Comedy Store. Brady won the competition at his second attempt and from then was hooked.

In November 2010, Sam was awarded Comedian of The Year at the Hull Comedy Festival.

In 2011, Sam worked with Jason Cook on the pre-recording sessions for Cook’s successful Radio 4 Pilot Happiness HQ.

Sam has been married three times, has a daughter and two step-daughters and once carried a ten foot illuminated Buddha around a packed stadium in the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony.

Sam is now a full-time professional comedian, working at comedy clubs up and down the country. He also hosts and comperes a string of comedy nights in the North West of England.

Sam has a story-telling style that is friendly, warm, enthusiastic and candid.
Sam Brady is a stand-up comedian and writer. Sam also promotes live comedy events and can help you hire a comedian or host at comedy night at your venue, be it a pub, club, restaurant or hotel.
